What's a NP?

A nurse practitioner (NP) is a health care professional who has received advanced training as a health care provider. An NP has received advanced training in healthcare promotion and maintenance through the diagnosis of acute illness and chronic disease management.

What Can A Nurse Practitioner Do?

Prescribe prescription medication

Promote healthcare wellness exams

Provide referrals to specialist when needed

Perform and order diagnostic studies (Labs, x-rays, ekg, etc)

Order other services such as home health, physical therapy or hospice if needed
